Ultra-low Loss Magnetic Materials for Innovative Power Electronics
Name
Satoshi Okamoto
Professor
Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advanced Materials (IMRAM)
Outline of Research
The purpose of this project is to develop the ultra-low-loss soft magnetic bulk materials and their practical applications. These materials will be key for the next generation of power electronics, which will be essential for the carbon neutrality by 2050. Our target is to decrease the ion loss by 1/3 in the power electronics circuits with SiC or GaN in power devices. Accompanying with this research project, a consortium for industry-academia collaboration will be conducted.
