Associate Membership Program
About the Associate Membership Program
The Material Solutions Center is an open lab whose aim is to promote a range of industry–academia collaborations based on Tohoku University’s advanced materials science. To this end, MaSC offers the Associate Membership Program, which provides technical support, including consultation, exploration of research seeds, and matching of partners for joint research initiatives. The membership program also offers access to the center’s shared equipment.
Membership Benefits
- Technical consultation and facilitation by faculty members
- Support for searching for research seeds within the university
- Support for joint research with university faculty and matching with research partners
- Use of shared equipment (However, priority will be given to tenants’ projects.)
- Shared analysis equipment
- Shared space (lounges on the 1st through 5th floors, conference rooms on the 1st and 5th floors, and a courtyard)
- Lockers for visitors (3rd-floor lounge)
- Wireless LAN (up to 3 passwords per member)
- IC cards for building access (only for the main entrance, up to 3 cards per member)
- Invitations to workshops and technical-exchange events hosted by MaSC
Annual Membership Dues
Membership dues will be billed in increments of 100,000 yen. Total dues will be determined based on how frequently benefits ① to ④ are used.
