Guide For Prospective Tenants
For Those within the University
Occupancy Conditions:
Applicants must be faculty members of Tohoku University who are advancing research on materials or functional devices in one of the three research fields below through industry–academia collaboration. Alternatively, they must be advancing research that contributes to innovation in these fields.
- Infrastructure fields (automotive, aerospace, and life science materials)
- Electronics (materials for power devices and electronic devices.)
- Energy (materials for solar cells, hydrogen storage, and storage batteries)
Procedure:
- Make an inquiry via e-mail.
- Submit the required application to the center director.
- A decision regarding approval will be made after review.
Occupancy Period:
In principle, occupancy is for a minimum of one year and a maximum of five years.
*Applications for over five years will be subject to additional review.
Cost (Base fees):
15,500 yen/㎡ (including tax) per year
*In addition to the base fees, tenants are also responsible for the cost of utilities (shared costs of common areas and the cost of utilities for the tenant’s space)
For Those outside the University
Occupancy Conditions:
Applicants must be involved in joint research with Tohoku University related to materials or functional devices in one of the three research fields listed below. Alternatively, applicants must be a company or organization receiving technical support for the advancement of one of these fields.
- Infrastructural fields (automotive, aerospace, and life science materials)
- Electronics (materials for power devices and electronic devices.)
- Energy (materials for solar cells, hydrogen storage, and storage batteries)
Procedure:
- Make an inquiry via e-mail.
- Submit the required application to the center director.
- A decision regarding approval will be made after review.
