Outline of Research
Centering on power generation using campus-sourced biomass resources, this project promotes sustainable community development through the integration of renewable energy and next-generation mobility. By building infrastructure equipped with disaster prevention and mitigation capabilities, it ensures stable energy supply and mobility during emergencies, aiming to realize a safe, secure, and economically vibrant local community.
Research Purpose
This project aims to establish an integrated system that networks and controls decentralized renewable energy sources (such as small-scale solar power) alongside next-generation mobility solutions (including EVs and on-demand buses) in mountainous areas and university campuses. By leveraging mathematical modeling and AI technology for demand-supply forecasting and optimal energy matching, we strive to realize sustainable community development that achieves both environmental sustainability and enhanced local transportation convenience, while ensuring energy supply and mobility resilience during disasters.
Expected Effect
・Achievement of Carbon Neutrality: Converts surplus renewable electricity into energy carriers like hydrogen and e-methane for supply to electrified and diversified mobility, thereby reducing regional greenhouse gas emissions.
・Optimization of Local Transportation and Safety Enhancements: Combines on-demand bus operations with vehicle telemetry and driver physiological data monitoring to achieve high energy efficiency alongside improved traffic safety.
・Enhanced Regional Resilience and Economic Revitalization: Builds a resilient infrastructure capable of maintaining stable self-sustaining energy and flexible mobility during disasters, contributing to safe, secure, and vibrant local communities.
Achievement
Participation in the Cross-ministerial Strategic Innovation Promotion Program (SIP): Collaborated with national programs including Cabinet Office SIP projects to demonstrate and advance carbon-neutral mobility systems on university campuses.
