Development of electron beam melting based additive manufacturing technology and new materials
This project aims to elucidate the various physical phenomena that occur in electron beam melting (EBM), a type of 3D printing for metals, by experiments and computational simulations, and to develop new additive manufacturing technology based on the findings. Furthermore, this project seeks to establish a new academic field of physical metallurgy which systematizes the physical reactions specific to EBM, that is, EBM metallurgy, and develop new highly value-added materials.
