Projects|Material Solutions Center, Tohoku University(MaSC)

Tohoku University Material Solutions Center (MaSC) is a cooperative base between industry, academics and government that has been set up in a joint effort by Tohoku University and its Institute for Materials Research, Institute of Multidisciplinary Research for Advance Metals, and Institute of Fluid Science and uses grants for facilities expenses from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.

Core technology for advanced battery :  Secondary battery consortium
This project works on developing devices and new materials for next-generation superior rechargeable secondary batteries with high energy density and high powerdensity for use in a variety of industrial mobile devices such as electric & hybrid vehicles, robots, cellular phones and laptop computers.
Working with the core technology consortium for advanced energy devices that was started with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's academic-industrial collaboration innovative business promotion program (business operations), this research is used to create highly performance electrical energy storage devices with better safety, low cost and abundant material resources. The development program is planned to build a robust energy storage system for the renewable energy system toward the green innovations.
